Modern Love was founded in 2002 by Roan Barrion, and is an online gallery specializing in 20th Century Design and Decorative Art. The collection offers a carefully edited selection focusing on (but not limited to) works from some of the most acclaimed figures and prolific firms of the last century, from its early dawn to its final decades.
In addition, Modern Love is an advocate for supporting the research and treatment of cancer; the promotion of educational materials on the prevention of cancer; and the funding of emotional support programs for those living with cancer during all phases of illness, from diagnosis through treatment and surgery, and well into recovery. Through a charity partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society, Modern Love holds an annual auction of 20th Century design and decorative arts called 20thC, where a portion of every winning bid is donated to the cause. In addition to the auction, is a series of limited edition T-shirts celebrating icons of the Modern Movement, with every sale helping generate vital funding for the Cancer Society and its mission.
